Still Hall and Gymnasium

Originally planned as one continuous structure, "the Men's Buildings" (as the Still buildings were called) were to be connected by a swimming pool. The pool was eliminated from consideration and the buildings were completed in 1928. They bear the name of Edgar B. Still, a civic leader and the only member at the time of the institution's governing board from DeKalb. The northern building was constructed as a men's gymnasium, converted to a women's gymnasium with the opening of Evans' Field House in 1957, and to classroom and office use in 1964. The southern building, originally referred to as the Still Arts building, was remodeled for classrooms and unofficially renamed the industrial and Technology Building until the restoration of Still's name in April 1974.
