HOW TO AVOID PARKING CITATIONS

1)  PERMITS ARE REQUIRED
     Get a permit at the Parking Services Office. For information call 815 753-1045.

2)  LOOK AT YOUR PERMIT
     There are limitations on your permit.

3)  CHECK THE SIGNS AND CURBS
     Before parking your vehicle check the parking signs.  Each lot has one or more entrance
     signs that provide  information on the type(s) of permit(s) which are authorized.  In addition,
     individual spaces within the lots may be marked for a specific type of permit.

4)  AREAS ENFORCED 24 HOURS
     Certain lots, spaces, and areas of campus require that a valid permit be displayed 24 hours  a
     day including weekends and holidays.

5)  PERMITS ARE NOT VALID IN PARKING METERS

6)  EXPIRED PARKING METERS
     All campus meters have a maximum time limit. No grace period is given for meter violations
     and all vehicles parked in an expired meter stall may receive a parking citation.

7)  DISABLED PARKING SPACES, CROSS-HATCHED AREAS, AND ACCESS
     RAMPS

8)  PERMITS MUST BE PROPERLY DISPLAYED TO BE VALID

9)  ALTERED, COUNTERFEIT, OR STOLEN PERMITS
 

VEHICLES ARE CONSIDERED PARKED WHEN STOPPED OR LEFT STANDING WHETHER OCCUPIED OR NOT.
