The Late Night Ride Service provides free, door to door, no questions asked rides to NIU students on a daily basis, 10 pm until 6 am. The service operates out of the Department of Public Safety and is staffed by the dedicated members of our Security Guard Division. The Late Night Ride van is wheelchair accessible and can seat up to seven passengers. A second Late Night Ride vehicle can seat up to six passengers and is available on nights when staffing and demand permits.

To utilize the service call the Late Night Ride Service at (815) 753-2222 and speak to a Late Night Ride operator. Please be prepared to provide the following information:

1. Your location
2. Your destination
3. Number of Riders
4. Your first name
5. A call back number .....A number where you can be reached in case of delays
6. Any special needs

You will be given an estimated time of arrival, your call will be place into the cue and your call will be dispatched on a first come first served basis. The Late Night Ride Service is one more component of the overall plan for individual security provided by the NIU Department of Public Safety.
